Traditional Shiatsu

Shiatsu is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and uses points along energy channels in the body (meridians) to restore and balance the smooth flow of energy (Qi) just as Acupuncture does without the use of needles by applying finger pressure instead. In addition to energy point stimulation, the shiatsu practitioner moves you into gentle, passive stretches and uses additional techniques such as gentle rocking,  palm pressure, massage, and gentle kneading of soft tissue during a session. Used to relieve muscle tension and pain, enhanced flexibility and range of motion, stress reduction, boosted immune function and over all emotional well being.

*A shiatsu session is performed on a futon on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothing.
